Oxford Dictionary adding words like “selfie” to the dictionary

Today, upon hearing that the Oxford dictionary has actually added words like “selfie” to the dictionary, I immediately went to look it up in complete disbelief.  Well, I was shocked to see that there is a whole slew of our modern made up words that have been added.  Words like, “twerk”, “vom” (yes, as in vomit), “phablet”, “derp”, and many more. 

Being that these are words I was hoping would soon fade, I am pretty shocked and not happy about it!  Let’s hope twerking doesn’t stay around for generations; the fact that it has been accepted as a legitimate word is pretty scary if you ask me.  Definitely a “derp” moment for the Oxford dictionary.
