Amazon sending drones to deliver packages in under 30 minutes!

The CEO of Amazon has just revealed on 60 minutes that they will be delivering packages via drones.  I feel like we’re entering into a new age with this updated technology!  But there has to be a catch, right?  Of course.  Here’s what you need to know.  The drone method of delivery is called “Prime Air”, and the only people it can deliver to is to those within a 10 mile radius.  Additionally, these drones can only hold up to 5 pounds – which is surprisingly is 86% of the shipments Amazon makes.  The process is pretty high tech – the drones wait at the end of the conveyer belts and take the packages straight to the front door step of their destination. 

Apparently this process cannot yet be commercialized, but the CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, seems to be confident that it will be in the near future when the technology is advanced, fine-tuned, and the rules and regulations get passed.  It is strange to think that sometime in the near future, we may actually have robots delivering packages to us instead of the usual delivery person.
