Is Instagram becoming a big copycat? Instagram has officially come out with a new feature that involves being able to upload photos that can only be seen by up to fifteen people of the persons choosing. Sounds familiar? Snapchat is a very popular app that has recently gained a lot of users. With this, Instagram makes this “new feature” on their own app that sounds much the same. The only difference is that the images don’t disappear after some time.
I don’t know if this will overtake Snapchat’s popularity, but it sure seems like they’re trying. In addition to the idea of private picture sharing, Instagram has made it possible to write text on the picture, making the whole “moment sharing” idea even more prominent. Again, this is a Snapchat feature as well.
This is not the first time we’ve heard of the popular app doing something almost exactly the same as other popular apps. When Vine had suddenly shot up and become extremely popular, Instagram had followed suit and made videos possible on their site as well, and in the exact same manner where you can pause and continue filming at separate times for one video.
Is it just me that finds this annoying? Get your own ideas Instagram!
